One more reason to love Neil Gaiman:  he essentially said on Twitter that he hopes people will write fanfic about his ep.

So it's late and it's a work night, but I won't be able to sleep if I don't take a moment to flail my arms and/or typing fingers in delight at Neil Gaiman's episode of Doctor Who.

I adore Neil Gaiman.  His novels are absolutely fantastic (American Gods and Neverwhere are particular favorites of mine).  His graphic novel Sandman is stunningly good.  He's seriously good-looking (despite the fact that he is literally old enough to be my dad...his older kids are about my age).  And then he writes things like this in his blog:
